Environmental Safety & Health   A Certificate of Attainment Course, 2003/04      Course Code:  6815 Award:  Certificate of Attainment in Environmental Safety and Health     Study Duration : Learning sessions 33 meetings Practical sessions 9 meetings     Date of commencement: 8 October 2003     Course Objectives   It is expected that, upon completion of the programme, students will be able to: demonstrate an understanding of the ESH legislation; identify critical ESH issues and develop precautionary and control measures; adopt a good practice to curb the associated ESH hazards at the workplace; apply the environmental management principles and techniques; and reflect critically the ESH plan and practice at workplace. Entry Requirement A certificate in an engineering/science discipline or equivalent qualifications, plus one year relevant industrial experience. Medium of Instruction English supplemented by Cantonese where appropriate Assessment Criteria and Issue of Certificate Students showing up of not less than 70% of attendance and passing the assessments of both examination and project will be awarded the Certificate of Attainment in Environmental Safety and Health; The required attendance rate may be waived subject to documentary proof submitted before commencement of the course and special approval granted by the course coordinator; The passing mark for each of examination and project is 40%.
