The Centre hosts the following awards
offered within the Post-experience Scheme
in Occupational Safety and Health:
Programme Aims
This programme is specifically designed to
provide occupational safety and health (OSH)
studies to prepare suitable candidates and
safety practitioners for positions of
safety officer in the local context.
Persons qualified with a Post-experience
Certificate in Industrial Safety or in
Advanced Industrial Safety can well expect
to be absorbed into a wide range of
industries that need their knowledge and
OSH skills.
Duration
Normally 1-year to 4-year PT
Programme Structure and Contents
To be eligible for the awards, students
have to complete the Compulsory Subjects
specified as follows:
For PeC in Industrial Safety

All subjects carry 3 credits each.

For PeC in Advanced Industrial Safety

Professional Recognition
The award of PeC in Industrial Safety is
recognised by the Government for the
purpose of registration with the Labour
Department as Registered Safety Officer
under the Factories & Industrial
Undertakings (Safety Officers & Safety
Supervisors) Regulations, Cap. 59.
Entry Requirements
-
Higher Certificate in an engineering
discipline; AND
-
1 year's relevant industrial experience.
Preference will be given to candidates
with a recommendation letter from their
employer stating that the chosen
subjects are relevant to their current
job.
