| Abstract | In Hong Kong, the Code of Practice on Safety Management (2002) proposed ¡§Job-hazard analysis¡¨ as the heading for the ¡§Evaluation of job related hazards or potential hazards and development of safety procedures¡¨, which is the element required by Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Management) Regulation.
Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) is considered by safety practitioners as an accident prevention technique to make a job safe by identifying the hazards or potential accidents associated with each step of the job and developing solutions that will either eliminate or control the hazard. The ultimate goal is to develop a safe job procedure to prevent accidents.
Today, industrial training is more advanced and complicated, and also it must be in line with the above industrial trend. A safe training procedure becomes inevitable, particularly for inexperienced undergraduates to follow safe practice. If the undergraduates can also participate in making the procedure, it will be more beneficial to them as they will get the necessary skills to prepare safe procedure for their future company, and on the other hand they will easily digest the cream of work experience shared by the instructor.
The author would like to share his JHA teaching and field experience in developing safe job procedure. This Paper proposes his idea of adopting JHA method in developing safe training procedure.
