| Abstract | The Author was contracted by an international logistics company to conduct an Initial Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management Status Review of its major warehouses in Hong Kong. The objectives of the Review were to: (a) assess the company existing EHS management arrangements with reference to local regulatory requirements on EHS management, and guidance from OHSAS 18001:1999 and BS EN ISO 14001:2004; (b) recommend improvement opportunities to fill in the gap by identifying its strengths and weaknesses in the existing EHS management. The Review compared the companyˇ¦ current EHS management arrangements against the following six areas: (a) requirements of local legislation dealing with EHS management issues; (b) specifications stated in OHSAS 18001:1999; (c) specifications stated in BS EN ISO 14001:2004; (e) existing guidance on EHS management available within the company; (f) best EHS practices and performance related to the organisationˇ¦s sector; (g) efficiency and effectiveness of existing resources devoted to EHS management. | ||||||
