TM 3001 - Computer Graphics and Animation

This module targets at introducing students to concepts in digital representations with computer graphics and animation. Contents are developed around areas in computer graphics generation, simple graphics rendering, graphics animations, and file formats conversions.

Concepts are complemented with hands-on practice to equip students with technical competence in using selected software for the subjects.

On completion of the module, students should be able to:

  • create simple computer graphics using pixel-based or vector-based formats
  • carry out simple graphics rendering with different colours, gradient, and pattern fill
  • apply photo-editing techniques in selection, adjustment, transformation, and masks
  • generate interactive buttons and animation graphics to be used for dynamic web authoring.
