Visit of Swire and HAECO
Mr Merlin Swire (1st, right), Non-executive Director of John Swire & Sons Limited and Mr Augustus Tang (1st, left), CEO of HAECO paid a visit to IC in this afternoon (Thursday, 9 August). They are accompanied by Ms Marjorie Yang, PolyU’s Council Chairlady and Ir Professor Alex Wai, PolyU’s Vice-President (Research Development). Six students of PolyU’s Department of Mechanical Engineering are working hard to get ready their Intelligent Windmill Field Control Demonstration System for an national electric automation competition to be held in Tianjin, China in next week. They will be competing with more than 50 student teams coming from different universities and colleges on the Chinese Mainland for the “Mitsubishi Electric Automation Cup”. The Intelligent Windmill Field Control Demonstration System is a project work of the students undertaken at the IC during the summer of 2010/11. Dr McMahon of UCEAP visiting IC
Dr Mary E. McMahon, Regional Director, Asia & Africa, Education Abroad Program of University of California (UCEAP) paid a visit to the PolyU and IC today (Mon, 11 July 2011). The University of California and PolyU are currently discussing on the establishment of student exchange agreement between the two parties.
