IC approved as HKIE Scheme A offering organization
The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) further renewed the status of approved organization to offer Engineering Graduate Scheme “A” (“Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering” and “Mechanical Engineering”) to the Industrial Centre (IC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for a period of three years, from November 2011 to November 2014. Apart from being an approved Scheme A offering organization, training offered by the Centre is also accredited by the HKIE Engineering Graduate Training Scheme “A”. Many companies send their Scheme “A” trainees to IC to undertake professional training. Six students of PolyU’s Department of Mechanical Engineering are working hard to get ready their Intelligent Windmill Field Control Demonstration System for an national electric automation competition to be held in Tianjin, China in next week. They will be competing with more than 50 student teams coming from different universities and colleges on the Chinese Mainland for the “Mitsubishi Electric Automation Cup”. The Intelligent Windmill Field Control Demonstration System is a project work of the students undertaken at the IC during the summer of 2010/11.
