Six students of PolyU’s Department of Mechanical Engineering are working hard to get ready their Intelligent Windmill Field Control Demonstration System for an national electric automation competition to be held in Tianjin, China in next week. They will be competing with more than 50 student teams coming from different universities and colleges on the Chinese Mainland for the “Mitsubishi Electric Automation Cup”. The Intelligent Windmill Field Control Demonstration System is a project work of the students undertaken at the IC during the summer of 2010/11. Students’ outstanding performance honoured

  Two groups of Mechanical Engineering students were nominated by the IC to receive this year’s Bosch Rexroth Scholarships, each worth of RMB10,000 for their outstanding performance demonstrated in their group project work. A project presentation and sharing session was arranged for the students to meet with Mr Sunny Lee, General Business Unit Sales Manager, Pneumatic, Bosch Rexroth China on Friday, 22 July. Mr Lee also took the opportunity to present the RMB10,000 scholarship cheque to the two student groups in the presence of Dr Stephen O’Brien, Director of IC.
